Yesterday's match between Peru and Ecuador has been suspended because of bad weather conditions (but may be played on a later date). Peru has no further matches sheduled yet.

I don't know why, but FIFA.com doesn't show any results beyond 19/12/2009. Therefor I can not find out weather DPR Korea gained their first (I think) title or weather Qatar is still unofficial AFC champ. However there is no notice about delay or dismissal either... Does someone know, where to get the result?
Next match in case of defense, draw or dismissal: Qatar vs. Iran on 02/01/2010
Next match in case of title change: DPR Korea vs. Turkmenistan on 17/02/2010

Finally, the results are on FIFA.com (seems like they had a X-Mas/New Year-Brake) - so we can officially confirm the above title matches within AFC. Additionally Iran won the match against Singapore 3-1. Their next defence will be home on 03/03/2010 vs. Thailand.
Meanwhile the CAF title has been defended by Benin against Libya (1-0) on 06/01/2010. Next match will be against Mosambique on 12/01/2010.
To conclude the five continents:
UEFA (Europe): Germany - next match on 13/05/2010 vs. Malta CONMEBOL (S.America): Peru - next match not sheduled CONCACAF (remaining Am.): Mexico - next match on 24/02/2010 vs. USA * AFC (Asia): Iran - next match on 03/03/2010 vs. Thailand CAF (Africa): Benin - next match on 12/01/2010 vs. Mozambique OFC (Oceania): Fiji - next match not sheduled
* this match still doesn't show up on FIFA.com, however both national federations confirm the macth on their respective homepages

Nigeria won 1-0 against Beinin yesterday, thus taking the CAF unofficial championship. Their first defence will take place on 20/01/2010 in Lubango (last matchday of Group C in Africa Cup), when they take on Mosambique. So this is the second chance for Mosambique within a few days - chances are worse this time, but with a win they'd quallify for knock-out phase. Let's see, what happens! UEFA (Europe): Germany - next match on 13/05/2010 vs. Malta CONMEBOL (S.America): Peru - next match not sheduled CONCACAF (remaining Am.): Mexico - next match on 24/02/2010 vs. USA AFC (Asia): Iran - next match on 03/03/2010 vs. Thailand CAF (Africa): Nigeria - next match on 20/01/2010 vs. Mosambique OFC (Oceania): Fiji - next match not sheduled

UEFA (Europe): Germany - next match on 13/05/2010 vs. Malta CONMEBOL (S.America): Peru - next match not sheduled CONCACAF (remaining Am.): Mexico - next match on 24/02/2010 vs. USA AFC (Asia): Iran - next match on 03/03/2010 vs. Thailand CAF (Africa): Nigeria - next match on 25/01/2010 vs. Sambia OFC (Oceania): Fiji - next match not sheduled

Wikipedia already lists the quarterfinal Nigeria vs. Sambia with 0-0 (5-4 after penaltys). For some reason this has not been confirmed on FIFA.com yet, but if it'll be, the next title match for defending champion Nigeria will be Semifinal on 28/01/2010 against Ghana.
According to FIFA.com Mexico will play against Bolivia on 24/02/2010 - not versus the US. The states will play against El Salvador on the same date. Because Bolivia is not CONCACAF and the next opponents aren't either, next title match is not sheduled.
UEFA (Europe): Germany - next match on 13/05/2010 vs. Malta CONMEBOL (S.America): Peru - next match not sheduled CONCACAF (remaining Am.): Mexico - next match not sheduled AFC (Asia): Iran - next match on 03/03/2010 vs. Thailand CAF (Africa): Nigeria - next match on 28/01/2010 vs. Ghana OFC (Oceania): Fiji - next match not sheduled

The CAF title match Nigeria vs. Sambia has been confirmed on FIFA.com, so Nigeria was unofficial champion, but lost it to Ghana in a breathtaking semifinal (1-0). Ghana will defend their title against Egypt on 31/01/2010. Because a draw is not possible in knockout-phase, the winner will be both official and unofficial african champion.
UEFA (Europe): Germany - next match on 13/05/2010 vs. Malta CONMEBOL (S.America): Peru - next match not sheduled CONCACAF (remaining Am.): Mexico - next match not sheduled AFC (Asia): Iran - next match on 03/03/2010 vs. Thailand CAF (Africa): Ghana - next match on 31/01/2010 vs. Egypt OFC (Oceania): Fiji - next match not sheduled

Egypt won against Ghana (1-0), thus becoming official and unofficial african champion. Egypt has sheduled only one upcoming match, but this will be versus England, so the next defence is yet unsheduled.
UEFA (Europe): Germany - next match on 13/05/2010 vs. Malta CONMEBOL (S.America): Peru - next match not sheduled CONCACAF (remaining Am.): Mexico - next match not sheduled AFC (Asia): Iran - next match on 03/03/2010 vs. Thailand CAF (Africa): Egypt - next match not sheduled OFC (Oceania): Fiji - next match not sheduled

Iran defended their unofficial AFC title against Thailand by 1-0 in the continental qualifier match on Wednesday. Their next match is not sheduled yet. For Egypt the first continental qualifier will be on 03/09/2010 against Sierra Leone. Because they will not take part in WC 2010, this is most likely their next match.
UEFA (Europe): Germany - next match on 13/05/2010 vs. Malta CONMEBOL (S.America): Peru - next match not sheduled CONCACAF (remaining Am.): Mexico - next match not sheduled AFC (Asia): Iran - next match not sheduled CAF (Africa): Egypt - next match on 03/09/2010 vs. Sierra Leone OFC (Oceania): Fiji - next match not sheduled

In an undisputed 3:0-victory over Malta, Germany defended their unofficial UEFA title. The next title match will take place on 29/05/2010 against Hungary. For Iran the friendly match against South Korea on 07/09/2010 (after FIFA Worldcup) will be the next defence. And finally Egypt has sheduled another match before the match against Sierra Leone, this will take place on 11/08/2010 against Togo.

hi i'm new. i have a little concern about the asian title. imho the asian title should be available for any AFC team. I am referring to the post that Turkey would have got the title in 1948. I think that if a (then-) AFC team beats the AFC title holder it should become the new UFWC asian champion. If the UFWC asian champion joins the UEFA, they should keep the title until they it lose to an AFC team next time (in a friendly) but shouldn't be available for the title after

The first part of yout posting is correct, but the second part isn't. If a team leaves a confederation, their title is disputed in the next match between two teams of this confederation (just like what happens if a boxer retires as title holder). You can see that in 2006 too, as Australia was inofficial Oceania champions when changing into AFC. The first match after the official change (01/06/07 i believe) was the next title match.

ok thats fine to me too, although it could become a problem when there are several games at the same time. but kevin wrote that he didnt put turkey and soviet union in consideration at all even when they were part of the AFC and that they would have changed the course of the title.
