Japan, in winning the Women's World Cup, take the WUFWC as well. They now hold the men's and women's unofficial world titles simultaneously, along with unofficial Asian titles for both men and women. A rare feat indeed! See the main site for more details of their magnificent achievement.

The next match is the Algarve Cup final against Germany or Sweden.

If WUFWC is begun with the first FIFA official women's international match (different from RSSSF in ufwc.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=discusstheufwchere&thread=64&page=1#178 ), then the beginning of WUFWC is probably as follows: (Left: Holder Right: Challenger) [ 1] 17/04/1971 France 4:0 Netherlands (in Hazebrouck) [ 2] 28/11/1971 France 2:2 Italy (in Udine) [ 3] 04/05/1972 France 2:2 Switzerland (in Basel) [ 4] 09/09/1972 France 2:5 Switzerland (in Gundershofen) [ 5] 13/05/1973 Switzerland 5:3 France (in Sochaux) [ 6] 11/05/1974 Switzerland 0:3 Netherlands (in Schaffhausen) [ 7] 31/05/1974 Netherlands 0:3 England (in Groningen) [ 8] 11/11/1974 England 2:0 France (in Wimbledon) [ 9] 04/04/1975 England 3:1 Switzerland (in Basel) [ 10] 15/06/1975 England 0:2 Sweden (in Gothenburg) [ 11] 25/07/1975 Sweden 3:0 Finland (in Brande) [ 12] 27/07/1975 Sweden 0:4 Denmark (in Vejle) After [12] is probably same as RSSSF, however, I have not confirmed they are the same.

I have checked the list of Women's UFWC from FIFA website (as of 3 August 2012). See the attached file for the full list. In addition to the difference due to the beginning of the history ( ufwc.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=discusstheufwchere&thread=64&page=3#753 ), I have found other differences from RSSSF: - On 7 May 1988, the champion Sweden played against Republic of Ireland (SWE 1 - 1 IRL), which is shown in FIFA list but not in RSSSF list.
- On 20 April 1991, the champion USA played against Martinique (USA 12 - 0 MTQ), which is shown in RSSSF list but not in FIFA list. (This is probably because Martinique is not a FIFA member.)
P.S. As in Men's UFWC, I have checked the WUFWC moves in major competitions: - 1991 WWC: Germany[holder at opening] -> USA[holder at closing]
- 1995 WWC: Germany[holder at opening] -> Sweden -> China PR -> Germany -> Norway[holder at closing]
- 1996 Olympics: Norway[holder at opening] -> USA[holder at closing]
- 1999 WWC: Germany[holder at opening] -> USA[holder at closing]
- 2000 Olympics: Norway[holder at opening] -> USA -> Norway[holder at closing]
- 2003 WWC: France[holder at opening] -> Norway -> Brazil -> Sweden -> Germany[holder at closing]
- 2004 Olympics: USA[holder at opening][holder at closing]
- 2007 WWC: Title not introduced (holder: Ukraine)
- 2008 Olympics: Title not introduced (holder: Ukraine)
- 2011 WWC: Australia[holder at opening] -> Brazil -> USA -> Japan[holder at closing]
- 2012 Olympics: Title not introduced (holder: Germany)

We have a new WUFWC champion with USA beating Germany in the final of the Algarve Cup last Wednesday (13th). It is just over a year since Germany took out the 2012 Algarve and the WUWFC off Japan. Germany don't have long to wait for a title re-match; they meet USA on April 5 in Offenbach.

After United States obtained the title on 13 March 2013, they retained the title for 14 matches but lost it after losing to Sweden on 7 March 2014 in Algarve Cup 2014. Japan then become the title holder after beating Sweden three days later. Japan will play the next defending match against Germany in the final of Algarve Cup 2014.
