Macau have been eliminated from the 2022 world cup as a result of refusing to play against Sri Lanka.
As Macau were for a long time the wooden sthingy holders this lead me to wonder, what happens when a team is awarded the standard 3-0 victory and a global/continental championship/sthingy is at stake? It goes down as an awarded victory according to FIFA, does the title transfer accordingly or not? Also what happens when a game has been played and initially a victory for team A but is then awarded to team B?
