Anyone have an interest or view on the female equivalent of the UFWC? The RSSSF website has the following list:- www.rsssf.com/miscellaneous/unoff-wc-wom.htmlQuite interesting for many am sure though the difficulty I suspect is identifying the inaugural women's international. This list starts with the 69 Euro Final. Based on this list Scotland are the current leaders, having ironically (given the recent change in the men's title), taken the title off Italy recently!

Looks like Denmark are now the 'unofficial' unofficial world champions! On October 1 the Danish girls knocked over Ukraine who had held the title for around 18 months.
The women's list based on the rsssf women's international list (see first post in this thread)....

Hi, I have updated the list from the link above - the last match: [372] 27.09.2006 Moscow WCQ Russia - Germany 2 - 3 I searched through FIFA database for women matches. As you can see, the matches of the "Four nations tournament" and the "Algarve Cup" are listed as friendly match there (this is why there is one penalty decision in a friendly match). So here are the results of all Women's UFWC title matches since September 2006: [373] 25.10.2006 Aalen F Germany - England 5 - 1 [374] 23.11.2006 Karlsruhe F Germany - Japan 6 - 3 [375] 26.01.2007 Guangzhou F Germany - USA 0 - 0 [376] 28.01.2007 Guangzhou F Germany - China PR 0 - 0 [377] 30.01.2007 Guangzhou F Germany - England 0 - 0 [378] 07.03.2007 Faro F Germany - Norway 1 - 2 Norway [379] 09.03.2007 Ferreiras F Norway - Denmark 0 - 1 Denmark [380] 12.03.2007 Villa Real San Antonio F Germany - Denmark 3 - 0 Germany [381] 14.03.2007 Olhao F Germany - Italy 0 - 1 Italy [382] 06.04.2007 Perth F Scotland - Italy 2 - 1 Scotland [383] 06.05.2007 Perth WCQ Scotland - Portugal 0 - 0 [384] 30.05.2007 Mariupol WCQ Ukraine - Scotland 2 - 1 Ukraine [385] 20.06.2007 Mariupol WCQ Ukraine - Slovakia 5 - 0 [386] 21.02.2008 Abrantes WCQ Portugal - Ukraine 0 - 1 [387] 28.05.2008 Perth WCQ Scotland - Ukraine 0 - 1 [388] 22.06.2008 Chernigov WCQ Ukraine - Denmark 1 - 0 [389] 27.09.2008 Chernigov WCQ Ukraine - Portugal 1 - 1 [390] 01.10.2008 Viborg WCQ Denmark - Ukraine 1 - 0 Denmark [391] 04.03.2009 Lagos F United States - Denmark 2 - 0 United States [392] 06.03.2009 Ferreiras F United States - Iceland 1 - 0 [393] 09.03.2009 Albufeira F Norway - United States 0 - 1 [394] 11.03.2009 Faro F Sweden - United States 1 - 1 [17] Sweden [395] 25.04.2009 Gothenburg F Sweden - Brazil 3 - 1 [396] 19.07.2009 Jonkoping F Sweden - China PR 2 - 0 [397] 22.07.2009 Pori F Finland - Sweden 1 - 3 [398] 19.08.2009 Enköping F Sweden - Norway 0 - 1 Norway [399] 24.08.2009 Tampere EC Germany - Norway 4 - 0 Germany [400] 27.08.2009 Tampere EC France - Germany 1 - 5 [401] 30.08.2009 Tampere EC Germany - Iceland 1 - 0 [402] 04.09.2009 Lahti EC Germany - Italy 2 - 1 [403] 07.09.2009 Helsinki EC Germany - Norway 3 - 1 [404] 10.09.2009 Helsinki EC England - Germany 2 - 6 [405] 29.10.2009 Augsburg F Germany - United States

Today the official world and european champion and current UFWC holder Germany will be hosts to olympic gold medallist USA. Are the official and unofficial titles gonna seperate again? Is Germany able to defend the titel a fifth time after carrying it through EC? How will keep the WUFWC warm all winter long?
We'll find out soon...

Sadly Germany lost to the US 0-1 (to stick with boxer slang: lucky punch), so USA is the new WUFWC title holder. The next match is yet unsheduled. Most likely it will be some kind of qualifying match for WWC 2011 in Germany, but CONCACAF has not decided on the modus of said qualification. For the last WWC the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup Winner and Runner-up were qualified, but the next Gold Cup is not sheduled yet as well.
Nevertheless, this games shows up in statistics: Game 405 on 29.10.2009 in Augsburg - Friendly - Germany vs. United States - Score: 0 - 1 - New champion: United States

If the US don't shedule a friendly match before, they will defend their title on 24/02/2010 against Iceland. This is the first match day in group B of Algarve Cup.

I would presume that most footy statisticians wouldn't count penalties as a win but rather as a draw. Good point of discussion if that hasn't already been solved/discussed in another thread.
Going on penalties as a draw then that changes Carter's very good list provided and means Sweden (and then Norway and Germany) didn't claim the title in Mar 09.
Having said that USA would still be current UFWC holders either way it is calculated.
Their title is currently under challenge in the Algarve Cup, and with two wins so far they must avoid defeat in four more matches at the tournament to hold onto their title.

Hi clinchy,
the UFWC rules for men's soccer state, that every win is considered a title change - even if it is by penalties. So draws (meaning: the title stays with the defender) are possible in friendly matchs only. The rules have just been adopted to women's soccer. If you think, these rules are not good/right for some reason, you should discuss it with UFWC author, because if we'd change it, we should change it for both men and women.
As you already mentioned, the US won their second game against Norway by 2-1. Next defence will be third and last group stage match on 01/03/2010 against Sweden.
But you are wrong about the matches: After the match against Sweden there is only one match following: The match for 3rd place, if they will be second in their group or the final, if they will be first. (The competition rules have been changed for this year.)

Game 408 on 01/03/2010 in Ferreiras - Algarve Cup - United States vs. Sweden - Score: 2-0
Next defence will be the final on 03/03/2010 against Germany. This will be the toughest defence since their gain (versus Germany) in October 2009. Is germany able to regain the inofficial title or will the US ladys once again beat the german team? I'm really exited - i wish they'd show it on TV.

This must have been one hell of a match: rain, mudd, heavy winds and thrilling until the end. But the US have once again scored one goal more than germany and this officially counts as winning the algarve cup In addition to that the soccer girls from the states manage to carry the women's UFWC through the whole tournament. Their next defence will take place in San Diego against Mexico (on 28/03/2010). These results give the following statistics: 1. This week, the US soccer girls defended their unofficial title versus Mexico two times. First on 28/03/2010 by 3-0 and then on 31/03/2010 by 1-0. This adds another two wins to US-american overall record. Next defence will be on 22/05/2010 - once again versus Germany.
