After long time, and after I saw that I don't have time to update the blog, here some updates about the titles, just before the new season starts:
Spain - The season will start with Real Madrid as the current holder. In round 36 of the last season they won against RCD Mallorca, 4:1, and since then defend the title twice (win against Athletic Bilbao and draw against Malaga).
Next Game: 29.08 - against RCD Mallorca
Germany - In round 33, Werder Bremen won the title with 2:0 against Schalke 04. They defendt their title once again with draw aginst Hamburger SV. It means that Werder Bremen will have the chance to defend their title this weekend.
Next Game: 21.08 - against 1899 Hoffenheim
Italy - Sampdoria are the title holders for the last 4 games in Italy. They won the title with win against AS Roma, and defend it with 2 wins (AS Livorno and SSC Napoli) and 1 draw (US Palermo).
Next Game: 29.08 - against SS Lazio
And now some new titles -
Australia - The A-League has its own title. In the last season final Sydney FC won the title and in their first game this season they defend the title with draw 1:1 against Melbourne Victory.
Next Game: 14.08 - against North Queensland Fury
Croatia - Hajduk Split are the current holder. At their current reign they won 10 titles (8 wins and 2 draws), 3 in this season. In the last season they won their 100th title against Croatia Sesveta.
Next Game: 14.08 - against NK Inter Zaprešić.
Montenegro - It's the start of the 5th season of the independent Montenegrin league, while the current title holders are FK Sutjeska. Before the last season over, FK Sutjeska got 3 title.
Next Game: 14.08 - against OFK Petrovac
Russia - In the end of 2008, CSKA Moscow lost the title to Shinnik Yaroslavl, and since then the title is competed by second tier games. In Tuesday the title holders, Rotor Volgograd lost 0:2 against Irtysh Omsk, that won the title for their first time in the history.
Next Game: 13.08 - against FC Volgar-Gazprom Astrakhan
Serbia - In Serbia, it's Crvena Zvezda (or in English: Red Star) which usually hold the title, but losing it to their rivals Partizan Belgrade in round 13, might be hurt. Partizan are still the champions, and they will defend it next season.
Next Game: 14.08 - against FK Inđija
Ukraine - We are after 5 games in Ukraine, while Shakhtar Donetsk won the title in the first match of the season, and it seems that they will defend the title for long time.
Next Game: 14.08 - against Karpaty Lviv
USA - This is the time for soccer titles in the MLS. The current holders are FC Dallas, that defend their title again versus Philadelphia Union.
Next Games: 15.08 - against D.C. United
And some help needed:
I have some problems with completing the titles in two countries:
In France, in the end of 1980, FC Mulhouse are the title holders while they relegated from 2nd to 3rd league.
In Netherlands, Den Bosch are the holder for the end of 1990, while they relegated from 1st to 2nd division.
If anyone can help or have information for another title you can post it here or send it by message.
