This is looking really good! Is anybody able to list the occasions so far that the title has changed countries?

I can - but it's gonna take a bit of a look at the old spreadsheet.
Basically it changed from England to Scotland and then back to England from 1871 through to about 1925.
Between then and the late 1950s, it transferred between England and Wales and then went to Germany in November 1958.
It stayed in Germany until November 1965 when it went to Bulgaria and there it has stayed despite European competitions etc.

The latest update for you all is that we are still in the Bulgarian league. We are up to August 1970 and the current holders are Levski-Spartak.

Hi all!
I have spent today at the British Library in London checking through some Bulgarian newspapers for details of where the next result leads to.
Some good news as we have made some progress with the next result in September 1970.
Levski-Spartak Sofia lost to Austria Wien in the European Cup prelim round and therefore the title will now reside in Austria.
Cheers,
Steve

I was able to take it on about a year after this. Title holders from Sep 1970 to Sep 1971 were as follows: Austria Wien, Atletico Madrid, Cagliari, Atletico Madrid again, Valencia, Celta Vigo, Sevilla, Sabadell, Granada, Espanyol, Real Sociedad, Real Madrid, Cardiff (yes they really did beat Real Madrid), Real Madrid (won the 2nd leg), Chelsea, Arsenal, Man United, Everton, Derby, Leeds and then Lierse SK. The title is now in Belgium, but the internet does not (as far as I can see) contain results from Belgium in 1971.

I think I've just found the Belgian results for the season which we need to keep going ....Pete thanks for your help so far, has been much appreciated - shame it couldn't have remained in England for a little while longer!!! Can't believe Leeds lost to Lierse (who were part-timers)

Now reached November 1974. A very tasty Belgian website (in Dutch) has supplied all the results to date. We have even ventured in the unknown realms of the Belgian 2nd division for a season! We know head for warmer climes - Olympiakos are the current champions....update to follow!

Have found a great Greek website for the league results but no details of the Cup games.
Does anybody know where I can obtain these from? The important thing is to know the dates of the games as well.
Alternatively, can anybody tell me if there were any games played on the weekend around the following dates:
17th November 1974 8th December 1974 23rd February 1975
If not, does anybody know of any good Greek daily newspapers that I could look at for the results?
Thanks, Steve

I am still having a few issues with the Greek cup results for the 1974-75 season and where they fit into the League results.
Have searched some Greek newspapers at the British library and these haven't been really very helpful.
If anybody know the answer to this question - please contact me!
Cheers,
Steve

Steve,
Hate to confuse things further, but I seem to have got different results to you! (although I was using a Belgian website, and admittedly my grasp of the language is not great)! From Lierse's victory over Leeds, i had the holder going: Lierse, Racing White, Mechelen, Cercle Brugge, Racing White, Anderlecht, Antwerp, Racing White, Liege, Lierse, Beerschot, Racing White. That takes us to the end of the 1971-72 season. Racing White's first defeat of the next season was to Cuf Barreiro of Portugal in the UEFA Cup. Where exactly do we differ?

Pete,
Thanks for your message.
I think we may have some differ around the match after the 19th February 1972 which I have down as the game between Racing White and Antwerp which Racing White won 1-0.
The next game I have is on the 27th February 1972 between Racing White and Luik FC which Luik FC won 1-0.
Do you have a game between this which I may have missed?

Pete - sorry ignore the above. I misread the the UEFA Cup results which I was using at the time. You're right - CUF Barreiro do become the new champions on the 20th September 1972. Therefore, there is going to have to be some pack tracking here!
Thanks again.

Dear all,
After some searching I have found the Portuguese league and cup results for the 1972-73 season. Unfortunately, no dates are attached.
Does anybody know where I can find these details>
Hope you all had a good Christmas. Happy New Year to all our viewers!
Cheers,
Steve
