We are continuing to plod along with the clubs in the German league but the leagues (and some of the clubs) have been less than helpful in trying to supply the information which I'm after.
Unfortunately, the birth of my baby daughter has slowed the progress a bit but I am hoping to be able to get up to the newspaper part of the Britsh library in the next month or so to see if I can gleen any more information out of the German newspapers!
Cheers,
Steve

Sorry - forgot to add that the well known German side SV Sodingen are currently the leading champions!

I may have some spare time later in the month and am in London - if you'd like me to go and dig through some newspapers for you, let me know how to contact you.

OK got it sorted! We are now at last in the Bundesliga in 1963 where the results will be much easily obtained. Current champions: BORUSSIA DORTMUND as at December 1963 There have also been some European games as well with German teams playing the likes of Drumcondra (Dublin) and Athletico Madrid and St Etienne.

Thanks Paul! Unfortunately, I only wish I was on the home leg......
The tale so far: it was great to be in the Bundesliga and everything was going fine and then Borussia Dortmund lost (what appeared on paper) to be an easy European Cup-Winner's Cup 2nd round 2nd leg match to CSKA Sofia in Bulgaria in November 1965. Even the CSKA Sofia website reckons that this was a done-and-dusted affair before the match took place!
Oh well, will need to get searching now - if any members know where I can get hold of the league and cup results for Bulgaria from 1965 onwards, please would you let me know (or where I can obtain a translater thing on the internet from Bulgarian into English!)
Cheers!

Tricky. Even by the obscure information standards of the internet, Bulgarian football results from the '60s will be a challenge. I'm afraid that I am no help, but I shall salute you if you pull this off!

We are making some progress - now at the end of 1966 from some very helpful Bulgarian people. Swansea almost regained it with a Euro Cup-Winners' Cup tie but the trail has gone cold again but will keep you updated!

Quick update for you all - now in December1966 where Lokomotiv Sofia currently hold the title. It's gonna be a while until I receive any more results through from my contacts in Bulgaria. Any assistance anybody can supply would be greatfully received!

www.bulgarian-football.com/indexarchive.html but there aren't any dates mentioned. Also have to consider the Sovjet-Cup, in which Lokomotiv lost in the semi-finals at some date, only the date of te final has been written down...
